2025 Donors

The Johnson County Library is an essential service that allows everyone in our community the ability to learn and grow. It opens windows of opportunity, promotes lifelong learning, and helps our communities stay connected.

Each year, the Johnson County Library Foundation accepts private donations that support over 20 programs at the Library that expand learning and fun for people of all ages. All of the donations we receive enhance the Johnson County Library, but do not replace publicly funded services.

In 2025, donor support made the following possible:

  • Purchasing over $130,000 in physical books, e-books and e-audiobooks, large print books, DVDs, for the 14 branch libraries.
  • Acquiring additional equipment and supplies for the Black & Veatch MakerSpace located at the Central Resource Library.
  • Empowering the Race Project KC’s Advisory Board to explore future options for programming and educating.
  • Gaining access to Brainfuse, the online, one-on-one tutoring hub for children K-12. The service is free and has no limits on use. Children can get one-on-one tutoring for free every day.
  • The Johnson County Library is working with the University of Kansas in 2026 to replicate our ROI Study from 10 years ago. This study shows the impact of library services in our community based on academic research. Last time it was a 300% impact per dollar invested.
  • The Johnson County Library Foundation is adding early childhood literacy units to Spring Hill and De Soto branches in 2026. That means that every Johnson County Library has an early literacy unit available for children and families. We are very proud of this accomplishment and the impact it can have on learning 6 skills by age 6.
  • Working with the Johnson County Department of Corrections to serve people at the Adult Residential Center with books, classes, and access to information.
  • And supporting summer reading, the fine arts magazine ‘elementia’ and so much more!

As you can imagine, there is so much more we can do in 2026 and beyond. What other dreams can we accomplish? How do we make Johnson County an even better place for people to live and grow? By supporting the Johnson County Library Foundation, you ensure that our 14 branch libraries can offer opportunities like these and many more to everyone.

Thank you to all of our 2025 Donors
